Memories of La Puente Public Mural

In 2021, I was selected by the Los Angeles County Department of Arts and Culture to design and lead the installation of a public mural in Bassett Park, in the city of La Puente. Over the course of several years, I designed a linocut-based mural that honors the area’s history, dating back to the original Tongva settlement of Awigna.

This three panel mural was finalized in 2025 with the help of artist and muralist Pavel Acevedo and ceramicist Dez Hernandez, who helped to install the mural. Each panel depicts a different era in the development of the area; from the Tongva settlement of Awigna, to the agricultural period of the 1930s to the contemporary moment.
